Sox on Track, Papi on the bench

May 5th, 2008 · No Comments

After a sluggish and unconventional start to the 2008 season the Boston Red Sox seem to be back on track. They’ve just completed a sweep of the Rays thanks in part to speed on the basepaths and power at the plate. Big Papi is out with a stiff knee, but Manny contributed with a double and Kevin Youkilis went 3 for 4 including a solo shot deep to centerfield giving him 4 RBI on the day. Crisp, Lugo, Pedroia and Ellsbury provided the speed stealing 5 bases between them with 2 double steals during the contest. It was an exciting game to watch and no doubt had folks rushing to Jordan’s Furniture to pick out their (free) furniture.
