Kinda funny isn’t it? 2 years of winning and they got that “finger pointing” thing down real fast. Must have learned it from a Yankee. It’s like kids with too much candy. It’s never a good thing. Play time is over Boston!! Time to take a time out for daddy.

Seriously though… all joking aside. Can anyone give me a logical reason for this that goes beyond the rivalry? It’s the pot calling the kettle black. They should be sympathizing w/ A-Rod, not bashing him. After all… A-Rod was just doing his best Red Sox impersonation. They should be flattered.

Thats why they are the Red Sox fans.
If they knew any better, they ‘d be the Yankee fans, but then I d have to call them band wagon fans. What a predicament.

Good point never taught of that well maybe that’s why he want to go the Red Sox

this is really bronx bombers rule
Thank You!!
Finally someone sees the truth!!
I have been saying this for ever. The red sox and their fans fail to see that the only numbers that matter are the WS rings, where the Yankees got them beat by 19.
i think that red sox fans are tired of the Yankees winning all the time and their red sox never getting any of the perks. So now, that they finally have something to laugh about, so they feel that they have to take advantage of it WHILE IT LASTS.
jealousy is a powerful thing. red sox fans would know.

Well, I’m not sure where you get the generalization that SOX fans blame A-ROD for the choke. He was a big part of it but Mariano Rivera actually holds the most blame. He blew leads in 2 of the games in the 2004 ALCS. Which of course in the site of the greatest choke in the history of ALL sports. Not just baseball either all sports. Never before has there been a choke like it and most likely there won’t be again. The RED SOX have had more than their share of heartbreaking losses but there are teams out there with many more than the RED SOX.
As far as A-ROD is concerned when you’re the highest paid guy in the game and when it counts most (the playoffs) you should be able to deliver at least a .300 average lifetime…A-ROD is not even close. This past year is his best showing in with 3 hits and 1 homerun in all of the post season.
Since when has it been only SOX fans saying this? This has been a HUGE YANKEE fan gripe for the past 4 years! Who have been booing him since he came there. The RED SOX fans just don’t need that garbage on their team…obviously.
You need to get your facts straight pal because your ridiculous generalizations are really off the mark.
EDIT: Hey C-NOTE a couple 2-3 hit post season games from A-ROD would be nice…BUT IT NEVER HAPPENS RETARD! A .279 average in 4 games this year is LAME, LAME , LAME! .300 lifetime is the post season would be GREAT! But like the rest of the Yank-mees he ****** balls in the ALDS! Dustin Pedrioa hit .500 in the offseason in more games. Get your facts straight DOPE!
Frankly A-ROD’s season wasn’t even that great Ortiz hit the same amount of homeruns as A-ROD did in 07, in 06 and still missed a month on the DL.
Don’t get all worked up because all your typing won’t bring a WS championship back to the YANKEES!

A-rod has bad playoff numbers but the red sox fans weren’t the ones that were calling a-rod a failure in the clutch first, the yankees fans were the ones doing that in 05 and even more so in 06. I personally dont believe that you can judge a player by their performance in the playoffs. My personal belief for why A-rod can’t hit in the playoffs is the pitching is much better and A-rod boosts his stats against bad pitching and does comparatively bad against good pitching (the kind you see in the playoffs).

First to QBass… A-Rod postseason avg is .279 a couple 2 or 3 hit games and he’s right there. Yet you say “not even close” then say “get your facts straight”. You need to shut up you dumb ignorant redneck moron. Don’t post anything when you have NO IDEA what your talking about.
OK now to answer the question. As another person stated before, Red Sux fans have had nothing to cheer for for SOOOOOOO long, that the one chance they get to do it. They are gonna overdue it. It’s like the young kid who wins a medium pot in the world series of poker and flips out and cheers, and hugs everyone, but when a pro does it he simply stacks his chips and moves on. You never hear Yankee fans rub it directly in Red Sox faces when they win the WS. They simply say “Yeah we’re the best and act like it.”
When Red Sux fans win the big one. They jump and scream and cheer and rub it in the Yankees faces (not the whole league mind you) but the Yankees faces, period.
Sportscenter said it best. For the past 100 years the Yankees have been trying to win the world series, and for the past 100 years the Red Sox have been trying to beat the Yankees. You got your goals all mixed up Sox fans. Now that you’ve won a few be proud of yourselves, but be humble in the fact that you’ve got a LOOONNNNGGG way to go before you ever catch the Yankees.
And while your eating some of that “professional poker pro” humble pie. Show some props to A-Rod for having a great year and just getting unlucky a couple of games in the postseason. After all… isn’t that what Red Sux history is all about? Good seasons… triple crowns, cy youngs, and some bad luck in the postseason? A-Rod was born to be a Red Sock and every honest Sox fan out there knows it.
I think it’s like brothers… your so alike you **** each other because you see your flaws in the other person who is just like you. It reminds you of your weaknesses and you can’t stand it. History shows that if anyone is messed up in the head, it’s Red Sox fans.
7 milerman01 // Feb 12, 2009 at 7:17 am
Both can be correct. The Red Sox can be the most choking team in history, and A-Rod may also be a greedy, narcissistic flake who is a miserable choking piece of garbage in the playoffs because playoff stats don’t count towards his regular season totals, which of course, he memorizes and spends his entire offseason looking in the mirror reciting to himself.
By the way, nice job on asking a Sox/Yanks question to generate the maximum possible debate.

Um, the Red Sox are world champs, you know. Biggest chokers in history is them Cubs.

11 Tony // Feb 18, 2009 at 2:58 am
Because A-Rod truely chokes in the postseason. Where it matters most.

You must be a Yankee fan. So since you are, let me give you some important FACTS:
Since 2001
World Series Championships:
Boston 2
New York 0
World Series Lost:
New York 1
Boston 0
And lets not forget New York had perhaps the biggest choke job in history with Mr. A-Rod in their lineup against these Red Sox in 2004, up 3-0.
I’m not a Sox fan (Braves fan through and through), but I’m just stating the FACTS. Yankee fans are sour because they can’t even BUY a World Series anymore.
