White Sox won the world series about a few years ago while the Cubs haven’t done it in about a 100 years. Well, Wrigley Field is an amusement park for you guys not a baseball stadium. Suppose Wrigley was the White Sox stadium would you guys be White Sox fans? I mean Chicago if you don’t want your White Sox team then I am sure that another city would love to put them in a brand ******** new stadium. If I was the owner I would move to another city. You Cubs fans should be happy that you have two sports teams. One is an overrated joke and the other one has to compete withe the Yankees, Red Sox, Indians, and Angels. So, who do the Cubs compete with? There is no excuse for them not to at least make it to the playoffs. Every year and no results except for 1 lucky year. What I am basically is saying is love your sports team. Who cares about Northside and Southside. Hell, that is stupid because its still is Chicago. Its not like its Detriot or NY teams that you guys should ****.

Wouldn’t you be pissed too if your team didn’t win for 100 years? Cubs fans need to take out their anger on someone and White Sox fans just happen to live in the same city. You should just try to accept things as how they are.

just an intercity rivalry…half the city loves each team, therefore there is reason to dislike the other team

sounds like you are hating on the Cubs. Not all Cubs fans **** the SOX & for the record i hear / read more SOX fans hating / ranting on or about the Cubs than the other way around.
I think it has to do with the fact that your Sox won a World Series & are still 2nd fiddle in the Windy City, to a team that has a faithful following & a 100 year drought

Tremone, I do agree with most everything you’re saying. Especially that Wrigley is an amusement park. A really good example is that a few years ago the Cubs tried to go old school and not put the names on their jerseys. Yet the next year the names were back on it b/c the fans complained that they couldn’t tell who was who. That doesnt define fan in my book. But i do have a question. “Are you from Chicago?” I don’t think you are because you would have never said “Who cares about the Northside and Southside.” As much of a headache as it is and I **** the dreaded arguement with my friends that seem to never end. The Northside/Southside- Cubs/Sox rivalry keeps Chicago rockin’ & I always look forward to it. The northside and southside are totally different. The northside is more of a yuppy/boystown, shirt and tie neighborhood while the southside is more carhart, down and dirty construction workers. People take pride in where they’re from in Chicago.

Just as the same reason that Chicago White Sox fans hating Chicago Cubs. And plus Wrigley Field is more then an ivy cover cemetry then a baseball park. Since when have you seen ivy at an amusement park? And hey where are all the rides? Well the Milwaukee Brewers and St. Louis Cardinals, you forget that there was a good amount of time this decade, the Cardinals were a very good baseball team, and they have been good so far as from what I have seen. And the Miwaukee Brewers were a surpise team last year, and they have gotten off to a good start this year as well. Don’t complain that the Chicago White Sox have a lot of comeption to compete with, the Cubs to do even sometimes they might prove to be better through. You might look at the Cubs as a joke, and a very unfunny joke. But just be glad that you got the chance to see the Chicago White Sox win the World Series in your lifetime.

I find it to be quite the opposite. White Sox fans have a lot more hatred for Cubs fans than vice versa. I am a die hard Cubs fan, but I cheered for the Sox when they made it to the World Series…

I agree with your point overall. but heres a twist on what you said. ready? here goes… lets make cubs yellow people and sox red people, now change the words and reread your statement.prejudice is ugly. in sports its called competition. but its ugly just the same.I like having two teams in chicago. one competes for the american crown the other the national crown. only time they compete is for two three game series to see who has the cross town series to see who can beat each other for a coveted chicago world series. it is fun. but some weirdos who need to **** exceeed the entertainment factor and become rediculous. i hope the sox win their division. why? becouse im a chicagoan. i hope the cubs win thiers. why? the same reason. since they dont compete- i can find no reason to wish any bad standing on a home team. thats just cutting off your nose to spite your face, . Now to tell you what you’ll not like . Im a cubs fan. why? well its not becouse they cant win a world series.lol. its becouse they kept the game alive thru the 30s and the 40s and the broadcast era of the 60s and the 70s. they even have the red white and blue patriotic colors. ( not a mistake but a very carefully planned marketing idea the tribune heightened to appeal to all other states during its televised across the country period on channel 9. ) its sort of the harlem globetrotters of baseball during that time. and it did keep baseball alive . lets face it. the white sox almost killed baseball forever with the scandal to end all baseball scandals. ( the black sox- remember) obviously that has nothing to do with todays players. but the legacy is the legacy. I was glad it barely came up during the championship. but now ozzies kid is in heat for steroids. and looks to be banned. not a good sign . especially from a man who raised a rule breaker and a guy who condemned cub fans for liking the sox, really bad judgement. He could of tied the town together -instead he put a wedge between us even more. thats sad. and wrong. but hes an idiot. ( i say idiot becouse of what the players did so great and what he did with his fame- he destroyed harmony in this town almost assuring the seasons to come to be empty seats. a civil war in chicago didnt need his stupid mouth making matters worse) root for a cubs team. it doesnt matter which one to me. for it cant hurt the other. but if your in chicago spreading **** about a home team- i cant see it. its as dumb as new york yankee fans hating mets and vice versa. its better just to say i prefer watching the – blank. and let the other team have its fans. thats whats good for baseball and your team over all. as for why the cubs dont win the world series. they have come close in 85 twice in the 90s and twice so far in this decade. so they have competed well. and in the end im sure they will get one. then what will the sox fans say. what will be the real complaint then. you see? its a bad argument. both teams win a lot. and no team thinks playing either is a cake walk. im proud of that fact. besides – with real fights overseas- do we really need to get extreme over this? a baseball game? our entertainment? perspective is on order. as for lucky year for the cubs. one could argue that for the sox since there was no repeat. i wouldnt be pushing the lucky factor, especially becouse they went from first to worst with the same team.it sounds like your sox fans aroundf you have been teaching you prejudice and your having a hard time with it yourself. I hope this helps you deal with it a little better. becouse your probubly a nice guy. but dont let the haters mess with your head too much. take a hint from ghandi, he said if you **** someone and you want to get over it – cheer for them. it will cure you. i did the year the sox won it all. im glad they did win. now i realize i can cheer for both. its a load off my mind. normally id say go cubs here. but i think for you – this once – ill say goooo sox! ( yeah- no harm to my cubs from that -whew! i was worried.lol) by the way – are you still proud of calling the cubs a joke? at more than 50% win last year and 5 in a row so far this year? id say that statement seems a bit extreme and not accurate to the numbers. see? we all must guard ourselves from the haters. it creeps into our subconscience and makes us say things we should regret. and i beleive you are smart enough to see that. if im wrong- youll show that too. anyway- i hope the team you root for appreciates it.

To respond to Roadkills comments…ur must be high on the new bud at Harry’s new place. 90%perecent of your fan base is there to get drunk and hump each other. 10% of you I give credit, you actually know about baseball, but the other 90% forget about it…they just moved here, graduated college or are raging alcholics…I know this because I lived a block away for two years and do like the cubs and follow them and even make 20 games a year..don’t be confused, I blead black Cub vs. Sox, but I was born in this city, and love all of chicago sports. The sox fan base actually knows their players, competitors, and love their team for more than the idea of being drunk as Harry !!
