Red sox / Yankees this year, who will win the division?

February 2nd, 2009 · 19 Comments

red sox joke
doctorslapnut asked:

Ok, the red sox rotation is over rated, Dice K was HELLA HELLA HELLA overpaid, and threw 1 start with giving up less then 4 runs? LOL what a joke.

Starting rotation looks SICK

Clemens
Pettite
Wang
Mussina
Hughes

Would you rather have that BEAUTIFUL rotation or

Schilling (overrated, arrogant garbage)
Beckett (LOL, enough said)
Dice K (keep giving up 5 runs a game, its hilarious)
Time Wakefield (I thought you died 10 years ago, oh wait no, that was just your ERA)

Yankees will come back, and win the division, and the red sox will be crying on the field yet again.
The funny thing is all red sox fans are saying is “who won the first 2 series”? YEAH WHOS ENTIRE ROTATION WAS INJURED?

And the second “whos in first now” WHO GIVES A SHIT, I DONT CARE IF BOSTON IS IN FIRST UNTIL THE 161ST GAME, WHAT MATTERS IS BEING FIRST AT THE END, AND THATS WHEN THE YANKEES WILL BE IN FIRST. We’re 30 games into the season red sox fans, dont get on ur high horses just yet
And one nimrod said “look at the batters they got” are u kidding me, the yankees bats make them look like a LITTLE LEAGUE TEAM

I hope Tampa Bay pulls the miracle of miracles and jams both of your overrated teams.

By the way, if you think Roger Clemens is the answer, think again.

lol redsox will end up winning the division look at the batters that they got and the pitchers are un stopable and the good thing is that we will be playing yankees like every month so im happy :)

  • 11 danny d // Feb 22, 2009 at 3:05 am

you just might be right! it is a good thing the yanks are not too far behind! people who are writing them off forget about just 2 years ago, when the yankees were 11-19 and 8 behind thered sox and look what happened! however, the bullpen has! to do better! the red sox are going to be tough all year!

  • 12 uiop b // Feb 23, 2009 at 12:07 am

Okay with that great rotation didn’t the red sox sweep the Yankees? Clemens isn’t even number 1 cause hes not even pitching. Schilling is still cold. Beckett is the best, and even though Dice K gives up 5 runs, look at his record. The Yankees have to many hitter that hit singles, against the red sox stellar defense, they ll get no were. The Yankees are in a slump, and are wasting money hitters instead of pitching. The red sox rely on their pitching and closers, that’s Way they have one of the best record in the MLB, and our #1 51/2 games ahead of the Yankees

It looks like the Red Sox, but the Bronx Bombers seem to come back every year and take the division. They might not win the World Series, but there’s no way a team with the pitching staff of Andy Pettite, Roger Clemens, and Mike Mussina can’t go far in the playoffs?!?!

You have a powerhouse batting line-up with names like Bobby Abreau, Jason Giambi, Derek Jeter, Alex Rodriguez, Johnny Damon, and Jorge Posada. Yeah, losing Sheffield is somewhat tough, but this club has the capability of getting 250+ homers for the season.

I expect Joe Torre to work wonders with this team that Mr. Steinbrenner has given him. But, I am a Rangers fan, so I’ll be rooting against you Yanks! But, I’m just giving my analyst insight.

Wow, what an ardent Yankees fan you are.

You talk about Wakefield being old, hes a knucleball pitcher…hell be able to pitch till hes 50. (Not like Clemens isnt old). So far the RedSox rotation has shown theyre much better than the Yankees rotation. Not sure what rotation youre looking at. How is Becket funny, “LOL” ? He’s 6-0 with a 2.6 era…yeah. hilarious!

Another thing, the RedSox didnt overpay for Daisuke, I’ll bet you anything that what theyve paid for him has been made up in overseas advertising. Dont forget, he’s a rookie to the MLB, its a different world.

The best bet wil be to just watch. Right now one has to say that the Sox have set themselves up this year much better than the Yankees have pitching-wise/

You are right the Yankees rotation looks sick, death bed sick. Clemens is not going to help, he was mediocre at best last year in the National League where the batting is weaker in 7-9 spots, now he is going to be facing real batters. Pettite is inconsistent. Wang is your best pitcher and he is being inconsistent as well. Mussina is old and washed up and who knows how he bad he will pitch if he ever gets off the DL. Hughes is already out a month.

Schilling has been looking great so far, he was lights out against the Twins inhi slast outting. Beckett is tied for the best record in the major, notice how you had no arguement against him besides some weak little jab that made no sense. Dice K has had one rough inning in each of his outting and has looked great the rest of the games, maybe you should watch him and break down what he has actually done like 2 10K performances and being the starter in 2 wins against the Yankees.

You may also want to realize that you can claim you have a great rotation even though you know you do not because your bullpen ***** and is the worst in the majors. Look at how lights out the Red Sox bullpen has been with guys like Okijima, Romero, Donnelly, and Papelbon and then look at the Yankees weak bullpen that has blown a bunch of games for them.

    Red Sox win the division.

Alright I am a huge red sox fan but lets get this out of the way first the yankees are in last place the sox are in first so we must be doing something right beckett is amazing this year 6-0 so shut up schilling is not overated he is beastly and wakefield has like a 2.56 ERA this year. now who cares what your starters are doing cuz every game your pen blows every lead you get. clemens is old hasnt played in a while who knows if his fast ball will have zip on it. mussina is overrated big time wang ***** and PHIL HUGHES what a joke oh and if you think Dice-K was overpaid you guys are paying 28 million for the rocket this year and he isnt starting until June thats a joke

  • 17 bronxbloggers // Feb 28, 2009 at 5:57 am

Didn’t the Red Sox virtually hand the Yankees the division last year?
I recall the Yankees sweeping five in Fenway, or am I wrong?

  • 18 Ballzy // Mar 1, 2009 at 11:59 pm

lol, look at the little kid come out of his cave. Dont forget where your cave is because you will be headed right back once you see A.L hitters laugh at Clemens.

  • 19 Lara // Mar 2, 2009 at 3:03 am

Red Sox are winners, b/c Clemens and Petitte are going to waste too much time making out.
