On the first day of school, a first grade teacher explains to her class that she is a Red Sox fan.
She asks her students to raise their hands if they, too, are Red Sox fans.
Wanting to impress their teacher, everyone in the class raises their hand except one little girl.
The teacher looks at the girl with surprise, “Alexandra, why didn’t you raise your hand?”
“Because I’m not a Red Sox fan,” she replied.
The teacher, still shocked, asked, “Well, if you are not a Red Sox fan, then who are you a fan of?”
“I am a Yankees fan, and proud of it,” Alexandra replied.
The teacher could not believe her ears.
“Alexandra, why pray tell are you a Yankees fan?”
“Because my mom is a Yankees fan and my dad is Yankees fan, so I’m a Yankees fan too!”
“Well,” said the teacher in an obviously annoyed tone, “That is no reason for you to be a Yankees fan. You don’t have to be just like your parents all of the time. What if your mom was an idiot and your dad was a moron, what fan would you be then?”
“Then,” Alexandra smiled, “I’d be a Red Sox fan.”

I have heard that one but just the opposite way where the teacher is a Yankees fan and the kid is a Sox fan…either way its a good joke for kids.

Yea I’ve heard this joke both ways before, dissing the Red Sox or the Yankees..Either way, it’s kind of cute.

it is a cute joke that has been around for a long time. I do not like the Yankees or the Red Sox.

I heard it the other way around (with Red Sox and Yankees switched). I’m a Red Sox fan, so obviously I liked the version I heard more than this one! Its a good one for Yankee fans, though.
