Nice analysis, even I a devoted Yankee fan, am worried every year since the Yanks always seem to have a flaw somewhere. This year looks pretty bleak but I’m still not giving up hope. Even though you drew up a nice plan, you must understand that not everything is going to happen. The Yankees may decide to bring back some veteran players. I doubt that the Yankees would sign both Sabathia and Sheets. Texiera is working on a long-term deal with the Braves. A lot has to happen.

And what was your question?
5 insane_blackhawks_fan // Sep 10, 2009 at 3:00 am
You got Joe Gerardi who was not resigned as a manager with his last team because he is a cancer and you still have the worst GM in baseball (200 million dollar payroll and no World Series) Cashman (However the hell you spell his name).
The Yankees are years off.

Wow, I have heard that for the past 8 years and look what happened to them.
Listen I don’t believe any of that crap about the Yankees winning the World Series until they actual start showing that they are Championship material. They haven’t been showing that for the past 8 years.

not likely they will win the World Series, even if they get rid of all their dead weight (Giambi, Damon, Posada, Jeter and their whole pitching staff)
