what kind of baseball leagues should i play in next year?

John B asked:

im 14 right now. im already in summer leagues and im playing in a 16 under fall ball league thats a real good league in the fall.

i want to go some where in baseball. i want to take it to a good d-1 college or beyond.

right now im a good baseball player. im nothing spectacular but im not bad at all. not even close to bad. next year i want to get into the certain leagues to where i can get to be that spectacular player.

and im good right now because my dad and i go for 1 on 1 practice at the baseball field almost every day,and have been playing in leagues since i was 4.

sooo… next year-

-im going to make my varsity baseball team next year(im going to be a soph., but im really suposed to be a freshman next year, but i went into school real early, an im thinking ill go to a prep school someday.)
and my hs is d-1, so yea we face some tough competition in that.

-this is where im really stuck- should i play on a competitive 16u aau team, or should i just do a couple rec leagues with some good players in it.
is aau a waste of money? is it over rated?

-after high school season is over, im going to play in the junior(17u) american legion team that my hs coach coaches.

-in the summer, i am also going to be playing in a 13-15 RBI league with some real good players in it. and im going to be on the traveling all star team, and we are gunna be going to be facing all new england no matter what, and then if we win that we compete against the world. its real cool my big bro was on this team before.

-and then il beplaying in 1 or 2 fall leagues again- the 16 u one. and that has some real good competition in it for a 14/15 year old and its teams from all over RI.
and i also train very hard and i am making a batting cage in my back yard and i go to batting cages and clinics in the winter.
im a outfielder.

ok so the main question here is-

do you think i should play aau- or is aau just real over rated and a waste of al that big amount of money?
and if i dont play aau, what should i play along with hs baseball?
couple of rec leagues?/ or is there any show cases or any other high competition leagues around rhode island?

    Try lacrosse.

Much more of a real sport.

I’m sure you can’t handle basketball, gridiron, or hockey, considering your spec.
